The Peninsula -- Qatar Fuel, Woqod, opened a new petrol station in Al Aziziyah on Monday, and by this raised its network of various petrol stations to 82. The new petrol station is part of Woqod’s ongoing expansion plans to be able to serve every area in Qatar.
“’Al Aziziyah petrol station is spread over an area of 10,000 square meters and has 4 lanes with 8 dispensers that will serve Al Aziziyah and its neighborhood,” Woqod’s CEO, Eng Saad Rashid al-Muhannadi, said in a statement.
He said that the new petrol stations offer round-the-clock services to residents, and include Sidra convenience store, manual car wash, oil change and tire repair, and sale of LPG cylinders, in addition to sale of gasoline and diesel products for light vehicles.
“We are pleased to open new fixed petrol station in Al Aziziyah. Woqod aspires to expand its petrol station network in the country to meet the rising demand for petroleum products and achieve the goal of providing customers with access to best-in-class products and services at their convenience and comfort,” al-Muhannadi added.
He pointed out that Woqod has recently accelerated the process for the construction of new petrol stations to meet the fuel and energy needs of the country. “Woqod is currently overseeing the implementation of 15 new petrol stations, most of these stations are expected to be operational during 2019,” al-Muhannadi revealed, noting that there are nine stations in the bidding phase and 23 stations in the design phase.
He said that as part of its strategic expansion plan, Woqod targeted to build a total of 130 fuel stations by the end of 2020.
